Artist Andrew McQualter was born in Newcastle but has lived and worked in Melbourne since 1991. He is not to be confused with the Australian Rules footballer of the same name. Through his drawings, installations and collaborative projects, Andrew is concerned with making the connections between things visible. He is also interested in the act of conversation as a metaphor for the relationships we create and maintain with each other, our culture, our institutions and our history. Andrew shows regularly in museums, public galleries and artist-run spaces, and his work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, the University of Melbourne and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.
