Blake Barns

Blake Barns started his international fashion career by interning with Swedish designer Ann-Sofie Back in London, and in 2012, after graduating from RMIT’s Bachelor of Design (Fashion), he flew to Japan to work with the label Eatable of Many Orders. Upon his return to Melbourne, Blake was scouted by underground fashion phenomenon Centre for Style to develop a collaborative project with the cross-disciplinary space—and formed an ongoing alliance with fellow practitioner Hugh Egan Westland of HB Peace while doing so. Blake is now undertaking his Master of Fashion (Design) at RMIT University, through which he is exploring how image has become a throwaway commodity aligned to contemporary fashion systems.
