Brendon McNiven

Brendon McNiven leads the Melbourne-based building engineering team at Arup—a global engineering firm that collaborated with Kane Constructions, mouldCAM and architects AL_A to build the 2015/16 MPavilion. Possessing a thorough understanding of the design process and how it is applied in architecture, Brendon delivers well-developed, integrated and efficient designs, and his specialties include lightweight and moving structures, building-stability systems, structural dynamics, facades, heritage buildings and 3D/BIM design delivery.

Brendon has worked around the world, delivering many of Arup’s major projects—including the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer (both the largest observation wheels in the world at the time of their completion) and Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort, a US$5.5 billion project known for its distinctive cantilevering ‘skypark’ that sits atop three hotel towers and forms the centre of the new Singapore Marina Bay downtown.
