Charlotte Day

Charlotte Day, director of the Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA), has vast experience working in Australia’s contemporary art field. Before being appointed to MUMA, she was associate curator at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), and held positions of director and acting director—respectively—at the Centre for Contemporary Photography and Gertrude Contemporary. With a reputation for innovation and collaboration, she’s spent a good decade curating local and international exhibitions, publications and public projects: NEW09 and NEW13 at ACCA; Social Sculpture at Anna Schwartz Gallery, Sydney, in 2011; the Adelaide Biennial in 2010; Ricky Swallow’s Australian Pavilion for the 2007 Venice Biennale; and, more recently at MUMA, Stuart Ringholt: Kraft and Art as a Verb in 2014, and Technologism in 2015.
