Daniel Richardson

Dan Richardson is a freelance percussionist, born and raised in Melbourne. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, he is now a regular guest of Orchestra Victoria whenever they accompany the Australian Ballet and Opera Australia. In any given week, you might also see Dan performing as a guest of Syzygy Ensemble, Speak Percussion, 3 Shades Black (“classical musicians who don’t blend in”) or Gamelan DanAnda—a community orchestra of Balinese traditional music. On a more permanent basis, he is the drummer/percussionist for Serbian folk ensemble Anja and Zlatna, exotica chamber orchestra Slide Night and experimental pop trio Comfort Creature.
