Dell Stewart

Dell Stewart brings a deeply embedded personal history to processes that are often regarded as belonging to the world of craft: ceramics, textiles and animation. She assembles these techniques in immersive environments that often blur or even erase the boundary between the artwork and the space it occupies, and her work is bursting with evidence of the personal and subjective—everything she makes represents another chapter in an ongoing story of a life lived by doing. Dell has organised and participated in numerous exhibitions both in Australia and overseas—most recently, close to home at West Space and Craft Victoria in Melbourne. She is particularly interested in fostering new material connections and collaborations.
