Grace Vanilau

Grace Vanilau works in multiple mediums and genres: from performance art, singing and songwriting to weaving and spoken word poetry; from classical, gospel and jazz to hip-hop and reggae. She grew up travelling all over New Zealand with her family, performing at gospel rallies and developing her voice’s power and soul. Grace has since performed and recorded with many artists and bands—including Caribbean Soul, Pacific Underground, Soul Sisters, Jacawa and Sunga. As co-founder and events coordinator at creative arts group Brown Roots, Grace continues to work with the Australian Pacific Island community.
