Flautist Laila Engle maintains a busy performance and touring schedule as a member of the Royal Australian Air Force band, performing regularly for dignitaries and official ceremonies in Australia, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey and more. A passionate advocate of contemporary Australian music, Laila champions this repertoire through her work as artistic director of the award-winning chamber music group Syzygy Ensemble, and has collaborated with many leading Australian composers. When she’s not performing, Laila co-presents the Australian Sounds program on Melbourne’s 3MBS FM—tune in on 103.5.
