Mauricio Carrasco

Born in Chile but based in Melbourne, guitarist Mauricio Carrasco works as a soloist often accompanied by electronics and chamber music groups. He has performed recitals and taught guitar masterclasses to composers and performers all over the world—from Argentina to Colombia to Switzerland. A former resident artist at the Cité des Arts and Centre Intermondes in France, the Bundanon Trust in Australia and CMMAS in Mexico, he is also an artistic associate and guest curator of the Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music—and a core member of its ensemble, Argonaut. Mauricio is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, researching a thesis on monodrama and contemporary music theatre.
