Phillip Adams is a leading interdisciplinary choreographer and artist, celebrated nationally and internationally for his diverse, provocative works that have been presented in theatres and galleries alike. In 1988, Phillip graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts and received the ANZ International Fellowship Award, prompting a move to New York. In 1998, after ten years as a member of several leading dance companies in the US, he returned to Australia to begin his own award-winning company: Phillip Adams BalletLab. Since its beginning, BalletLab has experimented with choreographic form and collaborative artists, performing its original, powerful, contemporary works both locally and abroad—in places such as the UK, the US, China, Denmark and Romania.
