Richard Blythe

Dr Richard Blythe is a professor in architecture and dean of the School of Architecture and Design at RMIT University in Melbourne, and a visiting research professor at Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In 2010, he led the establishment of the RMIT University practice-based research PhD program in both Europe and Asia, and was the primary author and lead researcher for the successful €4 million Marie Curie ITN (Initial Training Networks) grant ADAPT-r—or Architecture, Design and Art Practice Training-research, for long—which aims to significantly increase European research capacity through a unique and groundbreaking research model. Richard is currently an advisory board member for Ashgate Publishing’s Design Research in Architecture series, a member of the Australian Deans of the Built Environment executive committee, and a review editor for Routledge and the European online journal JAR.
