Rueben Berg

Rueben Berg, ‘Stone House’

Rueben Berg is a Gunditjmara man, a founder of Indigenous Architecture and Design Victoria (IADV) and a graduate architect—one of only a handful of Indigenous architects or architectural graduates in Australia. IADV, which Rueben founded in 2010 with Jefa Greenaway, aims to foster future Indigenous architecture and design leaders and encourage the integration of Indigenous design thinking into professional practice.

Rueben has been involved in various government roles within Indigenous affairs for many years; particularly, he gained a strong understanding of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 as the manager of metropolitan heritage programs at Aboriginal Affairs Victoria. He is also the managing director of RJHB Consulting and a founder and director of the Indigenous Ultimate Association—a non-profit organisation that encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to try their hands at Ultimate by coaching, supplying discs to communities and organising demo games.
