Slow Art Collective

Slow Art Collective (SAC) is an interdisciplinary artistic collective established in 2009 by Dylan Martorell, Chaco Kato and Tony Adams. Focused on the act of making, the group creates large-scale installations that draw on ideas of environmental sustainability, material ethics, DIY culture and collaboration—which is intrinsic to all facets of their work. SAC’s projects use the process of collecting to address the crossovers between artistic practice, creative sustainability and individual responsibility.

Recent SAC projects include Dylan and Chaco’s Archi-Loom 2 installation at Edendale community farm in Eltham (which followed the original Archi-Loom, built in the middle of Artplay at Federation Square) and, of course, Leaf House Music, a colourful, playful living studio that took over our inaugural MPavilion for thirteen days during last season’s program.
