Acclaimed French choreographer, dancer and performance artist Xavier Le Roy is one of the most influential dance thinkers of our time. Since making the somewhat-unconventional leap from science to dance (he holds a doctorate in molecular biology from the University of Montpellier, France), he has performed with the world’s most diverse companies and choreographers, and has identified new perspectives in the field of choreographic art and performance making.
Xavier’s work has been presented in diverse locations and situations the world over, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Beirut Art Centre, at Panorama Brazil and amid the beautiful gardens at the Palace of Versailles. His latest works propose situations that explicitly explore the relationships between spectators, visitors, performers and the production of subjectivities.
