Zanny Begg

Zanny Begg is a Sydney-based artist whose work focuses on political activism and community. Using humour, drawings and found cultural artefacts, she explores the ways in which we can live and be in the world differently, inviting us to engage with themes such as resilience, financial disobedience and unthinking borders. Zanny’s work is experimental, drawing on research-driven practice and using various mediums—such as film, performance, installation, activism and drawing. One of her most recent works, 1001 Nights in Fairfield, explores the relationship between Iraq and the Western Sydney suburb of Fairfield—by referencing the classic Arabic story.
