James Oliver is a senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne’s Victorian College of the Arts, and is co-leader of the college’s Art, Social and Spatial Practice research cluster. A frequent collaborator with artists and researchers across community-oriented, participatory and live art-making and creative practice, he is also a co-organiser of, and companion curator for, Performing Mobilities. In his personal creative work, James focuses on practice-as-research and methodology—and he also supervises PhD students on practice-as-research projects.
