Please join us for a very special performance as we take our first steps under the petals of AL_A’s MPavilion. Filling the Queen Victoria Gardens with music, dance and the ancient language of the Boon Wurrung people, Womin Jeka Yalukit Willam—Elements 2 will welcome us to MPavilion—and welcome MPavilion to our city.

This atmospheric piece—featuring flautist Tamara Kohler, dancer Rheannan Port and the captivating voices of the Dhungala Children’s Choir, with soprano soloist Shauntai Batzke—is a first-time collaboration between composers Deborah Cheetham and James Henry, both of Yorta Yorta descent, who have worked with Boon Wurrung elder Auntie Carolyn Briggs to translate their composition into language. Inspired by AL_A’s design, and playing out against a backdrop of the reflections and shadows it casts, Elements 2 will transfix us, creating an aural dimension in which we can abandon all sense of time. We’d be thrilled to see you at 10.30am on Monday 5 October for this beautiful performance, and we invite you to stay with us while Martin Roth officially launches our 2015/16 season.
