Chapter Music presents The Goon Sax and DJ Principal Blackman

As part of Melbourne Music Week: music so new it hasn’t even graduated high school. The Goon Sax are a Brisbane-based band in high school, but they’re not a high-school band. A critical difference. Their influences (Pastels, Talking Heads, Galaxie 500, the Apartments and Prince) belie their years but that’s mostly the case for musicians with a future: Chapter Music are not only presenting this afternoon gig at MPavilion—the Goon Sax’s first Melbourne show—but they’re also releasing the three-piece’s debut full-length, Up to Anything, in early 2016.

Come down early, and stick around after: Chapter co-honcho Guy Blackman (aka DJ Principal Blackman) will provide auditory entertainment on both sides of the Goon Sax’s set, spinning previously neglected curios from across the decades.
