What role does partnership play in modern-day art curation? To what extent do museums and galleries across the world need to work together to give the public the best possible exhibition experience? Join us for a candid lunchtime discussion between two internationally renowned curators: Mami Kataoka, chief curator of Mori Art Museum, and Rhana Devenport, director of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. In discussion with moderator Natalie King (MPavilion creative associate), our guests will explore the issues and opportunities of institutional collaborations, and look at new models for travelling exhibitions and curatorial collaborations with leading artists (such as Ai Weiwei, Lee Mingwei and Shilpa Gupta, with whom both Mami and Rhana have worked extensively). Bring your lunch—and your questions—and help us get this season’s MTalks conversation-ball rolling.
