ICLEI Oceania

The International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) is the world’s leading association of cities and local governments dedicated to sustainable development. ICLEI Oceania serves the interests and needs of local governments in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island nations. The City of Melbourne hosts the ICLEI Oceania Regional Secretariat, which, for over a decade, has provided strong leadership and support to local governments across the region, providing campaigns, programs and networks focused on local sustainability and responsiveness and resilience to the impacts of climate change. Since the UNFCCC Climate Conference of Parties in Bali in 2007, ICLEI has been pursuing its goal of achieving full participation by cities around the world to contribute towards greenhouse gas reduction and climate resilience.
