Best Press specialises in the kind of lo-fi jangly tunes that tell you summer is never too far away. Led by vocalist, guitarist and percussionist Lewis Maillardet, the Melbourne-based dream-pop quartet pulls influences out of everything from shoegaze ambience to barbershop harmonies. After starting life as Lewis’s solo project, the four-piece now plays gigs around town—from Cherry Bar to the Workers Club—and, in 2015, recorded a cover of Alex Pizzol’s ‘Friend, Football Friend’ for Other People, a compilation of Alex’s greatest hits (in cover-form).
