Matthias Schack-Arnott

Matthias Schack-Arnott is a Melbourne-based percussive artist working in the areas of performance, composition and improvisation. His solo work explores unique and ambitious approaches to performance—often involving the development of new instrumental set-ups built in collaboration with architects, engineers and technicians. At twenty-one, Matthias was invited to be an artistic associate with Speak Percussion, with whom he plays regularly—both in Australia and overseas. He also performs as a guest artist with Synergy, ELISION, Australian Art Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Nick Tsiavos Ensemble, Chamber Made Opera and Malaysia Philharmonic. Matthias was the recipient of a 2014 Green Room Award for Outstanding Work by an Emerging Artist.
