Paint What You Hear

Directed by musician Erica Rasmussen and visual artist Zakiya Kurdi, Paint What You Hear workshops use classical and contemporary music and visual art to engage young people and adults in the arts, inviting them to respond to live music using crayons and paint. The first workshops were held at ArtPlay in Melbourne in 2012, and have since worked with or popped up at the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Education & Outreach Program, the Melbourne Recital Centre, the Royal Children’s Hospital, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Box Hill Community Arts Centre, Incinerator Gallery, Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland and Dress Up Attack! Festival in Sydney. Check out the Paint What You Hear Facebook to find out about upcoming workshops near you.
