Philipa Rothfield
Philipa Rothfield is the creative advisor at Dancehouse, Melbourne’s centre for independent contemporary dance, and has been dancing on and off for decades. She is a dance reviewer for RealTime arts magazine and Momm magazine in Korea, is co-convenor of the International Federation of Theatre Research’s Choreography and Corporeality working group—and is an honorary senior lecturer in the philosophy program at La Trobe University. As a philosopher, Philipa writes on French philosophy, political philosophy, feminism and postmodernism, with a particular speciallty in philosophy of the body. She is currently writing a book on dance and philosophy, and has previously published on dance in relation to Merleau-Ponty, Whitehead, Nietzsche, Klossowski and Ravaisson.
