Three Thousand was Melbourne’s first independent online city guide, renowned for reporting the hidden nooks and precious oddities of the city since 2005. The trick is assembling a motley crew of talented locals who care just as much about new music, good books, independent projects, fashion, food and booze as you do. Three Thousand’s weekly newsletter (every Thursday arvo, hail or shine) is all about the real Melbourne—full of cool, weird recommendations and nary a mention of laneways. In 2015, Three Thousand opened up a rentable apartment on Gertrude Street, Fitzroy.
