Art, Social and Spatial Practice presents Renny Kodgers, ‘A sermon, a prayer and a healing’

Australian artist Mark Shorter brings Renny Kodgers to Melbourne—specifically, to MPavilion—to deliver us from evil, lead us not into temptation and forgive us our trespasses. Renny (a “renowned biblical scholar and lounge singer of extensive aural abilities”, and one of Mark’s alter-egos) is a mainstay summer hit in Sydney—he presented the Renny Kodgers Quiz Show on FBi Radio for two years, and has performed at MCA Artbar and as part of the Biennale of Sydney’s twelve-week SuperDeluxe program at Artspace in 2010. Visiting MPavilion as a guest of the VCA’s Art, Social and Spatial Practice (ASSP) research cluster, Renny will host a public sermon in the gardens, leading us in song and—God willing—a few healings. Warm up your vocal cords and prepare to let love in (and out).
