How do you break into the design industry? Moreover, how do you break into the industry in a city such as Melbourne, one that’s full of design conferences and networks, major international exhibitions and local multidisciplinary collectives? Step onto the first rung of your design-career ladder with advice, tips and tricks from Melbourne-based, internationally renowned designers Nick Rennie, Lisa Vincitorio and Helen Kontouris. Between them, the three have designed stools, fruit bowls, couches and coat stands for design giants including Alessi, Ligne Roset, Normann Copenhagen, Schiavello and Kundalini—and they want to help you do the same. Presented by Melbourne Movement (a collective of designers who foster, promote and value good Australian design), this evening’s discussion is open to all fledgling designers, young and young at heart.
