Since the 1800s, Chinese migrants have moved to our city to build new futures. They have come in search of wealth, security and clean air, and have helped imagine and build a modern, marvellous Melbourne. Convened by the 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, this panel discussion delves into the migrant experience and teases out the influential role Chinese migrants have played in the development of our city.

Join 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art director Mikala Tai, Immigration Museum manager Padmini Sebastian, Chinese Museum director Peter Selinger, Shepparton Art Museum acting director Rebecca Coates and leading Chinese artist Chen Qiulin as they explore the experience of the contemporary Chinese migrant.
