Learn the meditative art of hand-crafting with industrial designer Tom Skeehan of Skeehan Studios, a Canberra-based furniture, lighting and product design firm. This relax-while-you-make MMeets session—presented by Hotel Hotel’s new series of workshops and talks, Fix and Make—combines process with practice: Tom will teach you to whittle your own pair of long-life chopsticks by hand using salvaged wood while you listen to a gentle reading of Japanese novelist Jun’ichirō Tanizaki’s ‘In praise of shadows’, an essay on Japanese aesthetics.
